Fusing raw techno, radical queerness, and unapologetic fetish culture, GEGEN is an immersive space where music, bodies, and desires collide in full-force self-expression.
What sets it apart isn’t just its legacy as one of Berlin’s longest-running queer nights — it’s GEGEN’s political heart. Here, pleasure and resistance meet, norms are challenged, and fluidity is essential.
In a city saturated with queer nightlife, GEGEN dares to stay raw — rejecting sanitized versions of underground culture in favor of defiant, authentic expression.
Expect relentless sound, transgressive beauty, and unapologetic freedom.
We chat with Dominga and Volvox about their upcoming event and how they vibe together.
Hey dears, so nice to have you around KEYI for a quick stop before the upcoming Gegen event! Could you introduce yourselves to the KEYI community?
Dominga and Volvox are 2 meteorites from outer space that symbiotically became organic in human form after traveling unmeasurable distances throughout the dimensions.
Berlin’s Gegen parties are known for transforming the club into a judgment-free zone. Why do you think nightlife spaces are politically important for LGBTQIA+ folks?
Our bodies are temples, and wherever we are deploying, it stands collectively as a political statement of freedom, loving connection and empathy, in days like today where right wing oppression is rapidly attempting to take away all the freedoms that have been entirely granted for minorities. It is more important than ever, though with some family and transparently within our souls and hearts.

What can we expect from your set at the next Gegen?
The set will be characterized by the mixture of heavy, pulsating techno and sonar pulses, intertwined with the most efficient trans metrics & sounds brought from the wider spectrum of sonic emissions. From the atom collider particles being splitted to tsunami alarms all the way to ancestral chants and Concrete imperfections in the digital soundscape. It’s a new iteration on the well-known solid and expansive Volvox sound with otherworldly frequencies and sonics that create a completely new take on trans-inducing metrics.
What does the future look like for both of you?
Future does not exist, nor the past and if you think about it, the present is dissolving constantly. So within the limited perception of existence that is granted to us, we expect to dissolve the material, temporal, psychological and spiritual barriers in order to transcend into a wider being of vibration.
